Meet Our Instructors

Jill Richards

Owner/ Step & Double Step Instructor

 ( The Owner of Stand Strong Fitness Center, Certified Personal Trainer, and Instructor )

Jill has been in the Fitness Industry for over 20 years.  Over the last 20 years Jill has received Nutrition, personal training and group exercise instructor certifications through AFAA, ACE, and AFPA!  Through the years her passion has only grown!  Jill says "Helping others reach their fitness goals is truly the best reward possible."  Jill has worked in many large fitness centers in South Carolina and East Texas, and through this experience she realized that her dream would be, that one day she would open her very own fitness center and be able to share her passion with others!  In 2011 Jill had the opportunity to open Stand Strong Fitness Center, and fulfill her dream!  The staff at Stand Strong is second to none, each personal trainer and group excercise instructor are so passionate about helping others and each one specializes in the classes that they teach!  Jill also teaches weekly Step classes, as well as a specialized senior class, "Forever Young."  Our mission statement here at Stand Strong is "Our staff here at Stand Strong Fitness Center desires to share with the Altus community, that proper nutrition and exercise provides the best quality of life: mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually."

Orlando Calamaco
Kickboxing Instructor

Orlando has always had a passion for helping others reach their fitness and nutrition goals. He joined the Air Force right out of high school and served 13 years. Orlando is a Texas native from the Corpus Christi area. He is married and has 4 daughters and 1 son, so when he's not teaching fitness classes he stays busy spending time with his kids. Orlando has a red belt from Wilcoxen Academy, has been teaching kickboxing since 2011, is a certified Insanity instructor, helped trained two champion cage fighters. First Aid certified and currently working toward his Personal Instructor certification through the NAFC. He believes that healthy lifestyle leads to happy life.

Sydney Garcia

Yoga Instructor 

Hi, my name is Sydney Garcia. I am a certified yoga instructor and I’m looking forward to helping you with all things yoga. I’m new to the field, I’ve only been teaching about five months. However, I have been involved in fitness my entire life. I’ve been involved in gymnastics since I was five years old. I was a competitive gymnast for seven years and I still coach gymnastics. I am small but strong and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I grew up in Altus. I married my high school sweetheart at 18 and had our miracle baby at 21. After having my baby I found it really difficult to love myself in my new mom body, until I found REFIT. I became an instructor to continue my own fitness journey and to help others find the joy in exercise. After experiencing such a life change I want to share it with as many people as I can! 

Zadie Curry

Spin Instructor

“Zadie Curry began teaching fitness classes as a way to stay in shape throughout her college career. She is ACE and NETA certified in group fitness and indoor cycling, and has a passion for teaching Spin!”

“Zadie has taught weightlifting, HIIT, and Tabata style classes, but her true love is Spin. She first experienced Spin classes with her grandfather, and that created a fondness for the bike that she simply can’t shake.”

“Spin classes are a fantastic place to connect with others and W O R K! Many people worry that Spin classes are too intense for beginners, but Zadie strives to meet every participant where they are, and she works along with them and encourages them throughout the class.”

Anna McKee

Boot Camp Instructor

"Throughout my life, I have always admired the people in my life . As I grew older, I saw that truly great strength is something that is built intentionally. Whether it's mental or physical, the challenges we face can make us stronger if we choose. Each one of us has great power inside of us and it is up to each of us to find and build it! My goal as a CPT is to challenge and hold you accountable to becoming the best version of yourself. Not only for yourself but those who rely on you! in 2015, I discovered the need to improve my own functional fitness and that has been a journey I continue to this day, especially after becoming a mother in 2020. No matter where you are in your health journey, you don't have to do it alone; lets do it together!"
